Private lessons are an essential part of a child's music education. As one might expect, private lessons on a musical instrument will result in increased advancement of performance skills. The one-on-one approach allows the student to benefit from the undivided attention of the private instructor, unlike in the traditional band setting where the teacher is monitoring a class number at least 50 students or more.

Students are very highly encouraged to take private lessons. Lists of potential instructors and contact information can be obtained from your band director.

Summer Private Lessons

Each summer the Big Spring Band Program offers a Summer Lesson Program to students involved in the program. Though the program is designed more for elementary and middle school students, all students 4-12 are eligible to participate. The lessons will enhance the musical concepts learned during the school year while keeping students playing during the summer months.

Each year the Big Spring Band Boosters help offset the costs of lessons by paying half of the total lesson fee! This is an excellent opportunity for your child to get one-on-one instruction on their instrument at a bargain rate!
